In a collaboration with Amazon Same-Day Delivery, Olympic Gold medallist Shawn East and former NFL football player Andrew East delivered Amazon packages to fans in their hometown of Nashville.

It's not often I cover a story set in Nashville that isn't about country music, but I suppose other things do go on in the home of country.
The collaboration saw the sporty spouses take on three same-day deliveries to families I'm sure knew who they were.
Ditching their usual garments for Amazon uniforms, the Couple Things podcast hosts became Amazon Flex Drivers for the day. The flexing part is both in name and nature, however, for they were tasked with delivering packages sent to patients of child hospitals and a local gymnastics school.
Despite the athletes saying they were racing to get the parcels delivered, they accompanied each other in tandem to all three spots. Perhaps they were seeing who'd get from the car to the front doors the quickest.

The first stop for Shawn and Andrew East was the home of a patient of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The kid opened the parcel there and then, revealing a football. With excitement, he passed the ball to Andrew, costing him precious time in the race. An elaborate ruse, to be sure.
Next, they visited the family of another child patient at the same hospital. She also opened the parcel at the doorstep, which revealed a tote bag of some sort. She meekly thanked her accomplished Flex Drivers.
The final stop was to Gaby's Gymnastics School. The whole class and their instructors were awaiting their surprise drop-off. They never opened the parcel, so who knows what illicit goods the instructors have ordered.
As that was their last delivery of the day, the couple stayed a while and led some warm-up stretches. I'm not sure the average Flex Driver will have so much free time on the job, but then again the average Flex Driver hasn't won the nation any gold medals.
Andrew claims to have won the race, but the real winner here is Amazon.
