Kentucky Man Arrested Twice After Going On Low Speed Mule Chase

Does it count as driving under the influence if the vehicle doesn't have an engine? Apparently not, but that didn't stop this intoxicated Kentucky man from being arrested after getting drunk and driving his mule around town, twice.

If you're planning a night on the town, and the thought of the walk to the bar is just too much, take a leaf from the book of Jonathan Mason of Kentucky and just take your mule. He decided to rock up to his local bar driving the best whip in town. However, he didn't treat his animal right, and people took offense.

According to the Murray Police Department, "Officers responded at 9:09 p.m. Saturday to a local alcohol establishment for a report of an unruly person. Officers found that Jonathan Mason, 39, of Murray, had been asked to leave but refused. Officers said Mason was outside the business and 'manifestly under the influence of alcohol' when they arrived."

Not only was he incredibly drunk, it was only 9 pm. This is a man who knows how to live. The problem was that old Kentucky Mason was taking his drunken frustrations out on his mule. The police report further states that "witnesses said that Mason was seen mistreating the mule and whipping it an 'unnecessary amount; at a different location." They promptly pulled him from his mule and threw him in the back of the squad car.

He was put in a cell and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication in a public place, third-degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, and second-degree cruelty to animals. You can't keep this Kentucky man from his mule though.

Mule Riding Kentucky Drunk Can't Be Kept Down

Presumably released on bail, Mason was back to his usual antics by Monday evening. Reports came into the Kentucky police department that a man was seen riding a mule at high speeds close to the lockup. I wonder, was the mule among the other impounded cars, or do they have a specific stable?

Amazingly, this time around, we actually have a video of Mason riding his mule. He is in a high seed chase, thrashing that horse down the road with police in hot pursuit. We need more situations like these. They're hilarious, and they look badass. High-speed horse chases are the future of live news entertainment.

Honestly, Mason is giving the Kentucky police a run for their money on his mighty mule. He has the dexterity and off-road capabilities they're lacking. Sadly, he didn't get away. This time he was charged with third-degree fleeing or evading police and second-degree cruelty to animals.
