While everyone is checking their 2024 Spotify Wrapped, the streaming service has revealed a piece of tragic news for the BeyHive: her critically acclaimed country album, "Cowboy Carter", was not able to rank in Spotify's most-streamed albums globally. Moreover, Beyoncé does not appear in the top 10 most-streamed artists globally in 2024.

Also missing from Spotify's top 10 lists is Beyoncé's single "Texas Hold 'Em" which became the artist's ninth number-one single in the United States. Taking first place instead is Taylor Swift, ranking number one among both the most-streamed artists globally and most-streamed albums globally lists, the latter featuring the "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology" album.
This comes almost three months after Cowboy Carter was not nominated at the 2024 Country Music Awards, many considering the lack of nominations of any type a major snub given the impact of the Beyoncé album. Moreover, the Spotify Wrapped rankings come one day after Billboard named Beyoncé as the Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century, beating Taylor Swift.
"While Taylor Swift is the century's biggest pop star by the numbers — from album sales to streams to touring dominance — our editorial staff chose Beyoncé as our Greatest Pop Star of the Century, based on her full 25 years of influence, evolution and impact," Billboard wrote in their announcement.
Spotify Wrapped, No Beyoncé
The official 2024 Spotify Wrapped did mention Beyoncé as one of the artists who cross genres. However, she does not appear in any other lists. Spotify crowned Taylor Swift as the top global artist of 2024 with more than 26.6 billion global streams. The most-streamed artists globally in 2024 include the likes of The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish, among others.
Swift also ranked in the most-streamed songs globally with "Cruel Summer" in ninth place. "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter tops the list, followed by "Beautiful Things" by Benson Boone and "Birds of a Feather" by Billie Eilish.
Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft", album released on May 2024 placed second behind the Taylor Swift album mentioned above. Sabrina Carpenter's "Short n' Sweet" places third, with "Mañana Será Bonito" by Karol G in fourth place.
