I have some sad news for '90s rock fans. Grammy-nominated singer Duncan Sheik has been hospitalized.

The singer is, of course, known for his hit song "Barely Breathing." His team confirmed that he was rushed to the hospital this week. Things are serious, but it sounds like the medical team has stabilized his condition.
The singer's team released a statement about Sheik on his Instagram. For now, the family is asking for privacy during this difficult time.
"We would like to share an update with Duncan's fans and the public," the statement read. "Duncan is currently receiving medical care and remains in critical but stable condition. Out of respect for Duncan and our family, we will not be sharing any further medical details at this time."
Singer Hospitalized
The exact cause of the medical emergency remains unknown. But let's respect the family's wishes for privacy.
The statement concluded: "We kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time and will provide updates when appropriate. Thank you for the continued love and support."
The news comes after the singer suffered poor health recently. Just earlier this month, he shared that he was at the hospital. The singer shared on social media that he had been in and out of the hospital. He expressed boredom at being at the place.
"Sorry for the selfies. But I'm still bored in hospital," he wrote. He also shared in August, "I would prefer to be home making music. But a bit of reflection is not too bad ... boring hospital stays have their benefits (outside the obvious)."
Despite his health issues, the singer has been busy. More recently, he penned the score for the upcoming musical Memoirs of Amorous Gentleman. That show is set to open on October 15. It's not his first musical either. He previously composed music for the Broadway show Spring Awakening as well. That proved to have a very successful run.
Here's hoping that doctors are able to fix whatever it is that is ailing him. We're wishing him a quick recovery and improvement. In the meantime, let's respect the family's wishes.
