A rock band is making a major change to its lineup after the death of a beloved member. The '90s rock band L7 lost Jennifer Finch in July.

Finch passed away from brain cancer. For their farewell tour, former bassist Janis Tanaka is stepping up to help bring the band across the finish line. Tanaka has also rejoined the grunge group.
"Although we will miss our Jennifer Finch terribly, she gave her blessing to welcome back L7's bass player Janis Tanaka to replace her," L7 said in a statement Tuesday. "Janis was our bass player from 1999-2001 and we are stoked to have her back and rocking with us again. LOOK OUT, she kicks a--! Please give Janis a warm welcome back!"
Rock Band Continues Forward
The rock band is launching its tour on October 6 in California. It is set to be their farewell tour.
"When L7 decided to release a documentary in 2015, we thought maybe we would take one last victory lap around the sun by playing some shows. Instead, that lap turned into eleven more years of touring, sweat, new music, and reconnecting with the fans who made this all possible in the first place," L7 singer-guitarist Donita Sparks previously said.
"Looking out into the crowd seeing longtime supporters rocking out next to a new generation of L7 fans has been the most powerful and humbling part of this chapter," she continued. "We are deeply grateful and ready to give our audiences one last, loud, fun, and hopefully unforgettable night of rock and roll."
The band previously paid tribute to Jennifer when she passed away. It's something that will likely weigh heavily on the tour as they go forward with their tour.
"Jennifer was a true original who lived entirely on her own terms, and the impact she made on music, art and everyone lucky enough to know her cannot be measured. We love her beyond words and will carry her with us always," the band also said in a statement. "Rest in power, our dear friend."
