80s Megastar Group To Headline BeachLife Festival in California

The 80s megastar group, Duran Duran, is set to headline The BeachLife Festival in California later this year.

It's been 40 years since Duran Duran were a global sensation. Yet, somehow, they're still capable of being a headline act. Don't believe us? Well, the 80s megastars are heading to the West Coast later this year. They will headline the BeachLife Festival, one of Los Angeles County, California's biggest music events of the year.

The group will be joined by other heavyweights such as The Offspring, Slightly Stoopid, and James Taylor. The event will run from May 1 to May 3.

"BeachLife's grateful for the opportunity to continue curating music, food, and lifestyle experiences that celebrate the beach culture of Southern California," founder Allen Sanford said in a statement via Rolling Stone. "This year's lineup is once again highlighted by a special collection of artists and bands who've helped shape the soundtrack of our California lifestyle...from its early days to today."

It's clear that The BeachLife Festival is looking to build on the success of 2025. Last year, they had  Alanis Morissette, Sublime, and Lenny Kravitz as headliners.

Despite no longer being a powerhouse in the pop music scene, Duran Duran remains incredibly popular with their target audience. The group, originally formed in Birmingham, England, is still drawing north of 14 million streams on Spotify alone. It's fair to assume they're closer to 50 million monthly hits once all streaming platforms are accounted for.

Some of Duran Duran's most popular songs on Spotify are "Ordinary World" with 508 million plays, "Hungry Like The Wolf" with 520 million plays, and "Come Undone" with over 284 million streams.

Clearly, those at The BeachLife Festival have faith in the band's ability to draw and entertain a crowd. Currently, the festival is the only date on the group's website. Therefore, they could convince fans to fly into Redondo Beach, California, in the hope of watching their favorite band while soaking in the sunshine.

The 80s are well known for being one of the best eras for music, and Duran Duran are deservedly part of that conversation. Maybe, with diverse offerings available at BeachLife, the aging rock group can earn themselves some new fans that will keep their music alive for years to come.
