If you're willing to stop taking insulin and replace it with slap therapy, it probably wasn't going to be too long before you die of something equally stupid anyway.

However, a alternative medicine healer, named Hongchi Xiao, somehow convinced a 71-year-old woman, and the parents of a 6-year-old, to stop taking their medication. He insisted that his slap therapy, known as Paida Lajin, would keep them alive.
The practice, which involves stretching and slapping the skin is said to remove poisonous waste from the body. Obviously, this is utter nonsense, and only really results in bruising and looking like a fool. However, a number of gullible people have been fooled.
Hongchi Xiao is not under investigation after he encouraged people to replace medication with slap therapy, causing them to die. The London court has charged him with manslaughter resulting from gross negligence.
In this case, the 71-year-old diabetic woman stopped taking her insulin after the healer supported her decision. However, according to the prosecutor, by the third day, "she was vomiting, tired and weak, and by the evening she was howling in pain and unable to respond to questions."
The healer doubled down, insisting the slap therapy wouldn't let her die. Clearly, he was wrong.
Slap Therapy Let A Young Boy Die
A much more tragic case is that of the 6-year-old boy allowed to die due to his parents and slap therapy teacher. In a similar situation, the parents of the young child were convinced to stop giving their child his insulin. Why his parents would listen to an untrained whackjob over medical professionals is anyone's guess.
He was able to continue traveling after this situation, making his way to the UK. However, he was captured and also charged with manslaughter in Sydney before also being charged with the same in the UK. However, I feel the parents of the child should be held significantly responsible also. Replacing insulin with slap therapy is what caused their child to die, and it was their choice.
Slap therapist, Hongchi Xiao maintains his innocence and the success of his methods. He describes himself as a political prisoner. He claims his healing process "is totally beyond the imagination of the media and the experts."
