1. Lainey Wilson
Wilson burst onto the country music scene in 2020 with "Things A Man Oughta Know." In the five years since then, Wilson has produced hit after hit after hit. Among her numerous chart-topping singles are "Heart Like A Truck," "Watermelon Moonshine," "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" and more.
Wilson is back again with "Somewhere Over Laredo," a song that is an earworm in the best possible way. The record is from her Whirlwind Deluxe record, out in August.
2. Shania Twain
Shania Twain took country music and turned it on its head, in the best possible way. In 1995, Twain has a No. 1 single with "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?," from her The Woman in Me record. The song didn't sound like anything else on country radio at the time, but Twain was just getting started.
The Canadian spent the next decade with hit singles dominating the charts, including "Any Man of Mine," "You Win My Love," "Honey, I'm Home" and others.
More than 20 years later, Twain's songs are still included on playlists, and are also karaoke favorites.
3. Reba McEntire
There isn't a female artist who has had more success with catchy songs than Reba McEntire. McEntire's career spans almost 50 years, with songs like "Fancy," "Take It Back," "Somebody" and more. She also is back with "Trailblazer," a new song with Miranda Lambert and Wilson.
Not only does the song prove McEntire's continuing reign in country music, but it also set a new streaming record for McEntire when it was released.
4. Carrie Underwood
After Carrie Underwood won American Idol in 2005, she began churning out hits, and she hasn't stopped. Underwood's first No. 1 hit, "Jesus, Take the Wheel," was released the same year she won Idol. Underwood followed that with the tender "Don't Forget to Remember Me," which came before "Before He Cheats," arguably one of the biggest songs of her career.
Underwood's songs are still played all over the world, and she still has a long list to choose from when she performs.
