A mother prepared for a party that her adorable daughter would never be able to celebrate. In an attempt to keep the party a secret, the girl's mother sent her outside. She was accompanied by a cousin while her mother finished preparing. However, that would prove to be the worst mistake of her life. While she was outside, the poor 3-year-old was fatally shot. She never got to see the party that her mother prepared for her.

3-Year-Old Fatally Shot While Mom Prepared Party
Hellen Silva went out for a walk with her cousin this past Saturday with not a care in the world. However, this would turn out to be anything but a typical stroll through the park for the toddler. As she and her cousin were strolling the streets of the Brazilian city of Recife, shots rang through the air.
Daily Mail shared that "four hooded gunmen opened fire on a rival in front of a bar and shot the innocent girl." After the 3-year-old was shot, Silva's cousin held her in her arms until paramedics arrived. Afterward, she was rushed to Restauração Hospital.
Silva's mother had heard the commotion and ran outside to see what was happening. However by the time she got there she claimed that "Everyone had already helped her and the police had taken her to the hospital." Silva had been playing with other children in the street while her cousin watched on, when the shots rang out.
A Mother's Misery
"I asked my niece to go down with her, so she wouldn't see the bags and the sweets, to trick her," Silva's mother recalled. She continued "... because kids are always on top of things, wanting to touch everything." While her plan made sense and was her way of keeping her daughter's party a surprise, I am sure it became a decision that she regrets.
After the 3-year-old was shot she was transported to the hospital. However, Daily Mail shares that "the gunshot wound caused Silva's brain to lose brain mass." The doctor alerted Silva's mother that he could not perform surgery on her daughter. Due to the amount of blood she was losing, her blood pressure was too low for a safe surgery.
Instead, the hospital kept Silva under observation, hoping that her blood pressure would return to normal, so they could perform surgery on the young girl. Unfortunately, little Silva lost her life in that hospital. Now her mother is left with a hole in her heart that nothing can fill.
She said, "My house is empty. I don't even know what else to do with my life." While Silva's mother still has an 11-year-old daughter, the empty space left behind by her 3-year-old daughter can never be replaced.
