Three teen best friends tragically died in a multi-vehicle crash that took place in Glassboro, New Jersey, on Sunday, March 9. Two 19-year-olds, Brenden Cary and Dominic Reyes, as well as an unnamed 17-year-old, died after their vehicle collided with another vehicle, causing a pile-up.

According to the New York Post, the three teens were inside a Honda, traveling on Route 55 on Sunday. At around 4:15 p.m., their vehicle collided with another vehicle, causing it to veer right. The Honda then hit a Dodge minivan that was parked and disabled on the highway's shoulder. As per the Courier Post and NBC 10, Brenden Cary was driving the Honda.
Both Cary and Reyes died as a result of the collision. The 17-year-old suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries. Inside the Dodge minivan was a 36-year-old woman and three children. The woman suffered serious injuries, while the three children suffered minor injuries, as reported by NBC10.
Reportedly, Brenden Cary was a Delsea Regional High School senior while Dominic Reyes had graduated from the school a year before. No information about the 17-year-old has been revealed.
Reactions
Dominic Reyes's legal guardian, Laura Perez, told NJ.com that the three teens were very close friends, describing them as "amazing kids."
"They were always together, working on their cars, going to the car wash and car meets, playing video games or just hanging out," Perez said. "It's an immense loss that I'm not sure we will ever fully recover from." Perez also said that she is praying for the occupants of the Dodge minivan, saying that she is "so sorry for them."
Francis Ciociola, Delsea Regional School District Superintendent of Schools,
shared a statement with the Franklin Township Police Department."Our school family is heartbroken, and our thoughts are with their families, friends, and all who knew and loved them," Ciociola wrote. "There are no words that can truly capture the sorrow of losing two young lives too soon. Please know that we are holding the families close in our hearts, and as a community, we grieve alongside them."
"In times of tragedy, our greatest strength is each other. Let's come together with kindness, compassion, and love as we support one another through this painful time."
Police are currently investigating the crash.
