Three people died after a boating accident at a professional fishing event. In addition, multiple other people were reported injured at the scene. I still don't understand what happened. But it sounds like law enforcement doesn't yet either. Here's what we do know, according to WHNT:

Fatal Boating Accident At Professional Fishing Event
At this year's Tackle Warehouse Invitational, three people died. I wish it were a lie. We don't know much so far, but what we do know is heartbreak.
According to a statement by Major League Fishing, the incident involved one of the competing anglers, Flint Davis of Leesburg, Georgia. As a result of the accident, the rest of the competition has been cancelled. Because, of course, it has. I don't know if anyone thought that after people died, competitions just moved on. But if they did, I'm happy to report that's not the case.
Presently, three victims have been identified. The victims are 44-year-old John K. Clark, of Cullman, 62-year-old Jeffrey C. Little, of Brandon, Mississippi, and 58-year-old Joey Broom.
Joey Broom was formerly a councilmember for the town of Snead. Sead Town Hall, unsurprisingly, released a statement after he was confirmed dead. In it, they stated, "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of council member, Joey Broom. Please keep the Broom family & the Town of Snead in your prayers." Although, of course, who isn't saddened by the deaths of innocents?
The Aftermath
As stated above, the rest of the tournament has been cancelled. Major League Fishing is helping ALEA in its investigation of the crash. I hate sounding like a broken record, but of course, they are. They kind of have to.
MLF released a statement saying, "Out of respect for those involved, and to ensure the accuracy of all information, no further details will be released at this time. MLF is working closely with law enforcement and emergency officials. Additional updates will be provided as they are confirmed by the appropriate authorities,"
No duh. Let's get the facts together before we throw around any accusations. I, for one, am definitely interested to learn how this crash happened.
