2000s Rock Band Teases New Music After Stagecoach Performance With Luke Combs

Punk and Rock bands differ wildly in their approach to new albums and releases. Some stick to a fairly consistent schedule, while others will go over half a decade without any new bangers.

One of the heaviest hitters in the Punk Pop genre is Good Charlotte, who have not released a new album since 2018's Generation Rx. I'll always have a special place in my heart for the group as alternative music channels used to play 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous' on repeat. Per Variety, the band recently made a surprise appearance alongside Luke Combs.

The Country superstar was the last act at the Stagecoach Music Festival on Sunday but didn't take to the stage alone. Combs performed 'Back Up Plan' with Bailey Zimmerman. He then played Good Charlotte's banger 'The Anthem' alongside Benji and Joel Madden, who are the lead guitarist and vocalist. The trio then performed Combs' 'Where the Wild Things Are.'

Combs finished his impressive set with a performance with Garth Brooks.

The Punk Rock Band Posted A Teaser On Social Media

While Good Charlotte didn't hint at anything on stage, a recent post on the band's Instagram page has fans speculating.

The group posted an image of them recording against a green screen with the caption, "Some things happening?" Naturally, it's hard to gather anything concrete from a single image, but it looks like a music video is being recorded. The post also ties in nicely with another that Good Charlotte released earlier this year.

In January, the band dropped a video simply titled "A New Beginning." Footage from old interviews plays as a Rube Goldberg machine turns on different screens around a garage. Per Kerrang, the band already has several tour dates from May to October. The outlet points out that if the band drops any music this year, it will be their first new content since 2020. Generation Rx is Good Charlotte's latest album, but they dropped a surprise single, 'Last December' in 2020. The single is significant as it was released 20 years after the debut album of the band's namesake.
