Russell Wilson may not be heading back to the NFL next season. The veteran quarterback is yet to make a decision regarding potential retirement. However, if he does decide to call it quits, it seems like his next career move is already lined up.

The 2013 Super Bowl winner has reportedly held "lengthy talks" with The NFL Today regarding a spot on their Sunday pregame show.
"'The NFL Today,' CBS' Sunday pregame show, is considered the favorite as the two sides have had lengthy talks," the source allegedly said, via Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reports. "Wilson, 37, recently had a visit with the New York Jets about the possibility of backing up Geno Smith."
If Wilson does decide to segue into broadcasting, he would likely fill the role that has been left behind by Matt Ryan. He recently left the show to become the President of Football for the Atlanta Falcons.
Nevertheless, Wilson could still opt to remain in the NFL. He reportedly visited the New York Jets in recent weeks, with the potential to serve as their backup quarterback behind Geno Smith. Whether Wilson would want a secondary role, rather than a spot in the CBS studio, remains to be seen.

Wilson has spent 14 years in the NFL. He entered the league as the 75th overall pick in the third round of the 2012 draft. Wilson spent 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks. He won a Super Bowl with them in 2013 and led them to the playoffs eight times.
Upon leaving Seattle, Wilson spent two years with the Denver Broncos, a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spent last season with the New York Giants.
The veteran quarterback is a 10-time Pro Bowler and has also played in two Super Bowls. His experience with a team would be invaluable. However, it's that same experience that makes him so desirable for broadcasting companies. After all, fans would definitely tune in to get his take on games and upcoming slates.
Wilson has carved out a Hall of Fame-worthy career. The question now is whether he's ready to walk away or wants another year or two in the league.
