19 million eggs have been recalled over contamination concerns. As reported by the New York Post, the contamination has been traced back to two major farms in Texas.
A recall notice from the Food and Drug Administration says that Midwest Poultry Services in Indiana has voluntarily recalled 1,589,577 dozen eggs, which is a shocking 19 million total!
The eggs themselves were suspected to be contaminated with salmonella, which can cause food poisoning as well as possibly more fatal symptoms in children and the elderly.

What Eggs Are Affected?
Well, there's a pretty long list. That's because the Midwest Poultry Services is the main supplier of several nationwide chains.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, the affected eggs were distributed from June 6, 2026, to July 3, 2026, to Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
But that's not just where they were sold. Kroger customers could have bought the affected eggs in Texas, and Brookshire Grocery customers could have also bought them in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi.
Other affected brands include Country Morning Farms eggs, as well as Simple Truth Cage Free eggs.
All of the eggs share the same identifying codes, Julian date ranges, and sell by dates. These are:
- Identifying code: P?'1950 or 840962
- Julian dates: 157-184
- Best By/Sell By: July 20-August 17, 2026

What Should I Do if My Product Is Affected?
The FDA has explained that customers are "urged to avoid consumption" and should also "return the product to its original place of purchase for a full refund."
They advised that, if customers have any concerns, to contact the company at 574-405-9531 during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday 8am-4pm ET.
