Tragedy struck an English tom on January 12, as an 18-year-old identified as Taylor Lupton crashed into a sewage plant. West Yorkshire Police stated that Lupton was found near the "partly submerged" Volkswagen Golf he was traveling in. Two other occupants, a man and a woman, aged 21, survived the crash but were later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

West Yorkshire Police issued a statement on their official website in which they described the incident. "At 6.19am today (Sunday), police received a report of a vehicle with persons inside which had left Wheldon Road and gone into a ditch," the statement reads.
Police found the white Volkswagen Gold still submerged in the water treatment facility pit. From inside the vehicle, they were able to remove the 21-year-old aforementioned man and woman. They, however, found the lifeless body of Taylor Lupton "a few yards away from the vehicle." They pronounced him dead at the scene.
Both the surviving adults were transported to the hospital to receive further treatment. However, West Yorkshire Police investigated the scene and decided to arrest both the man and the woman on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
"The incident is being investigated by the Major Collision Enquiry Team, who are appealing for anyone who witnessed the vehicle travelling along Wheldon Road from the direction of Airedale immediately beforehand to contact them," the statement reads.
A Father, Mourned
While West Yorkshire Police didn't reveal the identity of the dead 18-year-old, Metro identified him as Taylor Lupton. The outlet revealed that Lupton was a young father, and shared his girlfriend's tribute.
"I don't even know where to begin, never in a million years I would've thought I'd be writing this message," Megan Carswell, Lupton's girlfriend, said. "You were my absolute world and you made me a better person, you taught me how to love myself. I love you so much and I will miss you so much more. I really wish things could be different and you could be sat with me right now."
