Per WHNS, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a 17-year-old employee Kamel Seveion Sewell died after a collision in Frankie's Funhouse in Greenville on December 27.
They received an emergency call at 11:43 am, and the park promptly shut for the day.
Exactly how the crash transpired has not been shared. Sewell was driving a go-kart and crashed into a forklift that was being operated by another employee. No charges or arrests have been reported, so it's likely this was a freak accident.
This is an ongoing investigation, however, so more details may come to light soon.
Patrons who turned up to the establishment were turned away. It's unknown if any rejected guests that have pre-paid for their visit will be reimbursed or assisted.
A mother who travelled from Chestney with her son for his birthday, only to be told they are closed. "He's been looking forward to this all week, and we get here and unfortunately they're closed due to an incident we don't know about," she told the outlet.
