Hannah Hiatt, a TikTok mom influencer, received criticism and backlash following a viral video she posted back in November. In said video, which is now deleted, Hiatt's son, James, hides his face and appears to flinch when his father approaches him. This caused people to report the case to Child Protective Services, who are now investigating the family.

The now-deleted video, according to Hiatt, is a misrepresentation of who her husband is. According to her, he is the "sweetest, nicest, kindest, most loving, most nurturing father in the entire world." Moreover, she told her audience, who were concerned about James' safety, that James and the father were only "playing." "They're always playing where they scare each other. ... that's what they're always doing," she said.
The Ogden, Utah, Police Department talked to PEOPLE and confirmed that there is an active investigation into Hiatt and her family. They even confirmed that "there is a detective assigned to the case." No further details were revealed by the police department or the outlet.
False Claims, Says Hiatt
She went on to praise her husband, dismissing any concerns and portraying him as an excellent father."Nothing's going on. From the moment that my husband wakes up in the morning, to the second he goes to bed, he is only thinking about our children and our family and what's best for us," Hannah Hiatt continued.
On another TikTok video, Hiatt commented on recent attempts to compare her to YouTube Ruby Franke. Franke was sentenced to prison for aggravated child abuse. She called the comparison "hilarious."
"We live in a world nowadays where people will turn nothing into something," Hiatt said. We live in a world where people are so desperate to become TikTok famous, they will post about anything in order to get views for themselves. They don't care if it's going to bring someone down with it, they just want to become TikTok famous"
She would later say that her children are "happy," "healthy," and "well nourished." "That should be a pretty good indicator that everything's just fine," Hiatt said.
Currently, her Instagram account is private and Hiatt deactivated the comments on her TikTok account. Hiatt became viral after she posted a video of her counting a total of 17 diapers scattered around her house.
