If you have teens, you know that summertime means downtime. And with all that free time, it's hard to get them to find things to do, aside from playing video games and lounging on the sofa. But that wasn't the case for this West Virginia teen.
Ellie Yeater, 14, spent her summer transforming a 1974 camper she purchased herself into stylish "glamper"
According to Woodworking Adventures, Yeater saved up $500 from chores and birthdays to complete the project. She spent $200 on the camper and poured the rest of the money into refurbishing the interior and exterior.
Her family has a 60-acre spread of land in West Virginia. Ellie's older brother built a cabin on the property to get away, so she wanted her own spot find solace.
Over the summer, she spent many days and nights working on the project, enlisting family and friends to help.
She began by painting the exterior a light blue color.
Then she gutted out the interior. Her grandpa taught her carpentry skills during the process.
After replacing the flooring, she painted the interior a pretty pink color.
She laid down new tiles.
Then it was time for the finishing touches. Ellie found inspiration for decor on her favorite Pinterest boards.
And voila! A stylish new camper all to herself. It has electricity and wi-fi, too. Not bad for a 14-year-old!
