A 12-year-old boy has died after sustaining serious injuries at a Motocross event in Georgia.

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 8, at the Echeconnee Motocross racing track in Lizella. Dalton Hill, 12, was participating in the event at the time, and while details are unclear, he was injured at the event and later died in hospital. Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker posted a
press release on social media.'On February 8, 2025, around 10:30 A.M., the Crawford County Sheriff's Office received a call from Community Ambulance Service about an injured person at the Echeconnee Motocross 5070 Marshall Mill Road. The injured person was Dalton Hill, 12, who was participating in a race at the Motocross when he was injured. Community Ambulance Service transported the injured person to Atrium Navient Health Macon, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased by Hospital staff.'
The statement concludes that the Crawford County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation and will share more details later.

Echeconnee Motocross said they were 'deeply heartbroken by the passing of a member of our Motocross family.'

Georgia Military College Prep School, where Dalton was a pupil, also
posted a statement on Facebook, offering their condolences.'As a school community, we will be there for each other through this difficult time and keep Dalton's memory alive in our hearts. Together, we will remain in support of our GMC Family.'
A friend of the family has set up a GoFundMe to assist them with financial aid. A short description on the page reads, 'I am starting this fundraiser in loving memory of Dalton Hill to help his parents during this most difficult time. As they face these circumstances, please help them as they lay their son to rest. Our love and prayers go out to Phillip, Emily, Taylor, and the rest of the Ethridge/Hill family during this time.' At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised $42,540 of its $45,000 target.
