One woman has died and 32 others are injured after a semi-truck crossed a highway's median. According to People, the tragic incident happened on California's 210 Freeway on June 20 at around 8:55 am local time.
California Highway Patrol traffic logs described what happened. A truck described as a "red semi" smashed straight through the median divider wall from east to west.
The incident occurred with "at least" three vehicles. Photos from the tragic event also show the semi-truck was Target-branded, with several cars seen piled up near it, suggesting a large pile-up crash.
A report from the Los Angeles County Fire Department on social media goes into detail about their findings at the scene. They described the incident as a "MASS CASUALTY" event.
The statement continued, "Units responded to reports of a traffic collision. Units arrived to find a [semi-truck] that crossed over the center divide on the 210 and collided with multiple vehicles."
They explained that one patient was dead on arrival, whilst two patients were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Eight patients with minor injuries were also taken to the hospital, with six of those being juveniles. 22 others who had minor injuries refused to be transported.
Local outlets have revealed that the identity of the woman at the scene has not currently been released. The cause of the crash is also under investigation.

Target Released a Statement After the Semi-Truck Crash
Following the tragic incident, Target released a statement confirming the driver was not an employee of the company. Rather, the truck was being transported by a third party.
"We are deeply saddened by a fatal crash involved a Target trailer near Irwindale, California," they wrote. "Our thoughts and condolences are with all those impacted by this tragic incident, as well as their loved ones."
They also added that they were "working closely with local law enforcement and will refer additional questions to them at this time."
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, whilst there were major closures on the 210 Freeway due to the crash, it was reopened.
