Nobody likes an uninvited guest to a house party, especially when they pull out a gun and shoot a whole bunch of people.

At a family BBQ in Texas, an uninvited guest was asked to leave. Instead, they ended up allegedly attacking the rest of the party. They responded by firing back. The ensuing gunfight between the gun-wielding gatecrasher and cookout guests resulted in 1 dead and 16 injured.

Multiple 911 calls were made from Cherry Hills Road in Houston. Reports of a gunfight brought police to the scene, where they found the block warfare still ongoing. Gunshots could be heard ringing out across the neighborhood.

Police prioritized getting the wounded to safety until paramedics arrived on the scene. People injured during the BBQ house party were transported to a nearby Jack-in-the-Box parking lot to receive treatment. Once paramedics and the fire department were able to start transporting victims to hospitals, the police were able to respond to the ongoing reports of gunfire.

House Party Deteriorated Into Neighborhood-Wide Chaos

The result of the house party shooting has left one dead and 16 injured. Many of the injured people have received critical injuries and are in surgery. One attendee at the BBQ house party shootout spoke to ABC 13 about the carnage.

"You just see a lot of people start scattering, people on the floor, everybody trying to get cover, people pushing other people. We tried to get out as fast as we could, and whenever I got to the corner store to wait for my brother, I got detained."

Since the shootout at the house party, multiple people have been detained. After questioning, authorities released everyone they had detained. However, no arrests have yet been made. It is still unclear just what happened or who was responsible for the initial violence.

The identity of the man who lost his life in the chaotic event has had his identity kept private until his family is made aware. "It's still very complicated," Assistant Police Chief Patricia Cantu told reporters. "It was chaotic from the get-go."

Nothing ruins a good BBQ than an uninvited guest especially if they're packing heat.
