Is this floating house going to be the new trend in real estate? We’re not talking about your average boat or barge homes. These are full-on floating residences that are partially submerged under water. This home certainly gives new meaning to ‘sleeping with the fishes.’
The first underwater “Floating Seahorse” homes have been completed in Dubai, and we foresee the same ground-breaking architecture making its way to the U.S. and vacation spots all over the world.
The fully-submerged lower level is home to the master bedroom and bathroom and is 270-square-feet. Some of the walls are made entirely of glass, providing sweeping views of the underwater wonders surrounding the home.
Developed by the Kleindienst Group, it took some 200 designers, engineers and architects from countries all over the world to make the Floating Seahorse homes a reality.
The homes have huge floating sundecks for laying out on the main level, and observation decks on the upper level. Can you imagine laying out on one of these all day long?
The community of Floating Seahorse homes will have an artificial, protected coral reef built beneath them to give the seahorse population there a safe place to live and breed.
