Mom's Tumbler Gift Goes Viral for an Embarrassing (and Hilarious) Reason

A mother's love knows no bounds, but sometimes a mother may not realize boundaries were crossed without her knowledge.

That's exactly what happened when 18-year-old Shelby Donavan received a Christmas gift from her mother. While opening what she thought was going to be a cup holder for her tumbler, Donavan was in for a surprise.

In short, she thought her sweet mother had gifted her a less-than-family-friendly present. According to Donavan's Twittershe screamed in horror upon opening the gift, because it seemed to resemble an "adult" gift.

Luckily, the horror turned to humor when Donavan realized she had made a hilarious mistake. Thankfully, the present wasn't "adult" in nature at all, it was simply upside down. As it would turn out, it was the cup holder all along, it was simply upside down.

It's probably safe to assume Donavan was relieved, to say the least. Nevertheless, Donavan posted the hilarious misunderstanding to Twitter, where the photo has since gone viral. Since it was posted, the photo has accrued more than 81,000 retweets and nearly 200,000 favorites.

The hysterically misunderstood gift in question was a 30oz handle cup holder for a YETI rambler.
