Garth Brooks is currently winding down his epic world tour, but has one more record-breaking performance under his sleeve. In what could arguably be the most exciting stop of the entire tour, Brooks has just announced that he will be visiting Yankee Stadium in New York City on July 9.
The last time Brooks played in NYC was almost 20 years ago, when he performed a free show in Central Park that was also nationally televised. At that time, a million fans showed up and the concert wound up being one of the largest ones in music history. In fact, by the time the concert was over, Brooks had broken the record for the largest attendance in Central Park, which was originally held by Paul Simon.
This time, Brooks is bringing his wife Trisha Yearwood along with him for a concert event that will go down in history. His visit to Yankee Stadium will mark the first time a country music event will take place in the venue.
Tickets will go quickly, but you can purchase them through Ticketmaster starting on May 20. The cost of these tickets are just under $80, but most fans will be willing to pay the price to see a performance that will go down in the record books.
