Willie Nelson will play a leading role in the film, which will be scored by another iconic musician you know.
In addition to his legendary music career, Willie Nelson has an impressive acting resume. He’s starred in a number of films, including Honeysuckle Rose, The Electric Horseman and Songwriter. Add to that list the upcoming film Waiting for the Miracle to Come.
The film is a about a young girl (Sophie Lowe) who ventures to a California goldmine, where she meets a pair of retired vaudeville actors played (Nelson and Charlotte Rampling), who give the girl some valuable life advice.
Filming will begin soon on Nelson’s private ranch in Luck, Texas, which was built as a set for Nelson’ 1986 film Red Headed Stranger.
Nelson isn’t the only iconic musician involved in the project – U2 frontman, Bono, is writing the soundtrack. Bono wrote the song “Slow Dancing” for Nelson in 1989, and the pair recorded the song for U2’s 2011 album Duals.
No word yet on when the film will be released.
