Keyboardist, drummer and comedian Kurt Lammers is my guest on the show today. Kurt and I have worked together for a number of years, first performing together in the backing band for a Texas country artist, and later co-hosting The Wild Revue, a comedy show about outdoorsmen.
I brought Kurt on the show to talk about what it’s really like to be a professional country musician. The live shows only make up a small fraction of what the crazy career path entails. And if there’s anyone who can bring the hilarity of that lifestyle to life through the spoken word, I assure you, it’s Kurt. We discuss the vast Texas country music club circuit, how to survive a gig from hell, and share a few war stories.
Kurt also runs a live music tour in Austin, which you can book here. You can also catch him on tour with his band, The Eastern Sea, one of the best indie rock acts in the nation. And… we enjoyed having Kurt on the show so much that we invited him to join us for future episodes. So if you liked today’s show, I think you’ll get a kick out of what we have for you in the coming weeks.
