The Story of the Texas ‘Whataburger Grinch’ Has a Happy Ending

It's a happy ending in Seguin, Texas, where a man dubbed the "Whataburger Grinch" has returned a miniature Christmas tree he stole from the restaurant.

On Dec. 6, the Seguin Police Department posted a comical video to their page asking the public to help them identify the "Whataburger Grinch."

In the video above, you can see the man snatching the miniature tree. The video ends with a police officer saying, "Nobody steals from our Whataburger!"

It might seem like a harmless prank, but the Facebook post states that the employees saved up their own money to pay for the tree and made the ornaments themselves.

The manhunt didn't last long, though. On Dec. 11, Seguin PD posted a new video saying that the man had turned himself in. He returned the tree, and committed to community service for his crime.

In the post, the police stated that the thief stole the tree on a dare. This is one of those situations your mom warned you about, kids. Dares are not legally binding, but community service is.

Thankfully, this story has a happy ending now that the Whataburger Grinch has had a change of heart. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
