Watch Willie Nelson and Jimmy Kimmel Sing a Love Song to Austin at SXSW [VIDEO]

Willie  joined forces with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel to bid farewell to the capital city of the lone star state.

Dressed in a formal western suit, bolo tie and cowboy hat, Jimmy Kimmel tried his hand at singing the show’s brief visit to Austin for SXSW last week.

“This is our second time coming to Austin, which means it’s getting serious, and next time I expect to meet your parents,” Kimmel quipped at the opening of his love song to Austin.

After a solo verse he was joined onstage by none other than the Redheaded Stranger, Willie Nelson.

The slow, heartfelt ballad is overflowing with references to Austin’s idiosyncrasies, cuisine and even common modes of transportation. For anyone who doesn’t know, a pedicab is a rickshaw attached to a bicycle. Austin is full of them, and they pedal their little hearts out through the streets of downtown Austin alongside the vehicle traffic.

The lyrics include such classics as “My blood type is queso” and “Bolo ties and donut trucks, students yelling OU sucks”. They really get laugh-out-loud hilarious though at 2:38. Watch to see what Willie ate that will have you in stitches. My condolences Willie, please consider getting a rabies shot.
