The two stars joined forces during a fundraising concert on Oct. 21 for Musicians on Call, which brings musicians and performers into the hospital rooms of ailing patients. Before they began their duet, they brought out Warner Music Nashville’s creative director Shane Tarleton, who was honored earlier in the evening for his work with the organization.
The two longtime friends stood next to the seated Tarleton, pretending to fight it out in order to win his affections. You could tell from his nervous chuckles and squirms that Tarleton didn’t quite know how to handle being the center of attention. As McBride and McEntire did their best to put as much intense emotion into each verse of the powerful song to each other, they gently held back gleeful smiles as they sang for their dear friend.
In the coming weeks, McEntire and McBride will travel to New York City, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. together as a part of the Musicians on Call Rock the Room Tour, in hopes of raising additional money for the non-profit organization. You can find out more about the tour at the Musicians on Call website.
