Meghan Linsey blows the knockout round out of the water with her version of “A Natural Woman”
The Voice contestant Meghan Linsey showed audiences what she’s made of when she belted out this absolutely breathtaking version of “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” Formerly one-half of the country duo Steel Magnolia, Linsey auditioned for The Voice for its eighth season after her departure from the band.
During Linsey’s rousing rendition of the Aretha Franklin classic judge Pharrell Williams can be seen sitting in his chair paying rapt attention to the performance, and visibly moved by Linsey’s soulful voice. Before the song ends he stands up and cheers for the buxom blonde singer. The Voice judges Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera are both smiling and nodding along with the music as well.
Blake Shelton will never live down Linsey’s Voice audition when he was the only one of the four judges not to turn his chair around for the singer, with whom he had toured earlier in their careers.
Linsey sang against Travis Ewing during the Knockout round, and though Ewing’s performance of Gavin DeGraw’s “I Don’t Want to Be” was good, Linsey’s powerful vocal prowess claimed the prize that evening. Even Ewing can be seen rocking out to her act and shaking his head, eyebrows raised, obviously impressed.
