On the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Lady Antebellum took a moment during their performance in Nashville, Tenn. to remember America’s fallen heroes.
“We want to say thank you to every single person in uniform who fought that day,” Hillary Scott told the crowd, “who lost their lives that day, who fight to protect us on a daily basis.”
The trio then began an acoustic version of their 2010 song, “Hello World”. The crowd was silent during the solemn performance that was a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives during that tragic day.
It was a standout moment during a concert filled with memorable performances from the group, including many notable covers. They crossed genres by fearlessly taking on Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”. Opening acts Hunter Hayes and Sam Hunt also joined in for a fun version of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way”.
Lady Antebellum will wrap up their Wheels Up Tour Sept. 19 in Camden, N.J. before they take a long and much-deserved hiatus from the music world.
