Irish people dive into the world of American barbecue for the first time in this hilarious video.
If you live in the United States, you probably take for granted just how many delicious and unique types of barbecue there are. In Ireland, it’s not a common practice to slow cook your meats, so the idea of cooking ribs for seventeen hours seemed to blow the minds of these hungry participants.
Overall, the group fell in love with the slow-cooked ribs, pulled pork and brisket. They were less enticed by the bowl of burnt end beans, but with such an unappetizing name, it’s hard to blame them for being skeptical. Still, one of the participants fell in love with the beans, saying she wished she could bathe in the sauce. Unless you enjoy being sticky and smelling like barbecue for the next month, I’d advise against that idea.
At the end of the video, the group gets a taste of another much-beloved southern treat – biscuits and gravy. Once again, the name of the meal led to some confusion, as the term “biscuits” is used in Ireland as a reference to what we know as cookies. Overall, the variety of delicious American barbecue seemed to win over a few new Irish fans in the end.View full mobile page
