Watch Crowder Lead Southern Revival at the Opry with ‘Run Devil Run’

Crowder brought a tent revival feel to Opry at the Ryman with “Run Devil Run” this past November.

A little bit rock and roll and a little bit country, Crowder’s single returns to the gospel roots of the Grand Ole Opry. One of the singles off of Crowder’s latest record American Prodigal, “Run Devil Run” brought plenty of spirit to the Mother Church.

Lyrics like “He ain’t nothing but a silver tongue/I got something gonna make the devil run” ring true. There’s a distinct country-rock twinge that pays homage to the country greats that came before.

Crowder is the current musical project of David Crowder, formerly of the David Crowder Band. A native of Texarkana, Texas, Crowder studied at Baylor University before getting into music. David Crowder Band formed in 1996, and released 10 albums before Crowder himself went solo.

The first solo Crowder record was Neon Steeple, which featured the Grammy nominated single, “Come As You Are.” The single was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Crowder will tour in support of the record for a majority of 2017. You can find a full list of upcoming tour dates at his official website.
