In his new video, Colt Ford shines some light on the harsh impact of post-traumatic stress disorder on soldiers who’ve returned home from war.
Colt Ford has released a new teaser video for his current single, “Workin’ On.” The 30-second clip shows a soldier struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol abuse and the strained relationship it causes with his spouse. A portion of the proceeds raised from digital downloads of the song, which is featured on his 2014 album Thanks for Listening, will go toward the Lone Survivor Foundation. The organization, which helps soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, was created by retired U.S. Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, who is also a close friend of Ford’s.
In an interview with Country Weekly, Ford explained that he hoped the video would help to raise awareness of the disorder and its effect on soldiers and their families.
The full video will be a 12-minute-long short film and is set to be released in the coming weeks. Until then, fans can see Ford out on tour with dates across the U.S. through mid-September.
