You may not have known that singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton co-wrote Josh Turner‘s hit song, “Your Man”. The country singer gave an effortless and captivating live radio performance of the song on The Bobby Bones Show.
Stapleton, one of country music’s biggest rising stars, was a musical guest on the show and put his signature gritty and raw spin on the hit country song. Highlight of the video: Stapleton startling a woman who’s texting on her phone at 2:15.
Don’t be shocked about Stapleton’s co-writing credit on the track, though. Stapleton has been a major force in songwriting for quite some time. He’s penned hit country songs like Kenny Chesney‘s “Never Wanted Nothing More”, Darius Rucker‘s “Comeback Song”, and Luke Bryan‘s “Drink a Beer” — just to name a few.
So what is Stapleton up to these days? When he’s not winning awards (he took home four at the 2015 Country Music Awards for his solo album, Traveller), he’s touring nationwide. After his performances at Coachella and Bonnaroo this summer, he’ll be going on the road with Hank Williams Jr. for an eight-city tour throughout August. The duo will kick things off in Tampa, Fla. on Aug. 5.
