On Sept. 14, the first game of the 2015-2016 Sunday Night Football season kicked off with the help of one of country’s biggest stars. For the third year in a row, Carrie Underwood supplied her own rendition of the series’ recognizable theme.
In the clip, Underwood is joined by many of the NFL’s most popular players, including Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck. Between shots of her showing off her incredible stage presence, the star is seen joking around with the players between shots. Just like her athletic protégé, Underwood knows when to have some fun and when it’s time to work.
Faith Hill, who performed the theme for years before Underwood took over in 2013, always seemed a little more glam than relatable during her intros. This year, the theme seems to encapsulate Underwood’s down-to-earth personality and star power in just the right way.
If you want to see her in action, you can tune into each Sunday Night Football game on NBC. If you don’t feel like waiting, watch her new intro in its entirety now.
