Grand Ole Opry member Carrie Underwood returned to country music’s most famous stage for an acoustic performance of her latest single, “Smoke Break”. The track is off of her highly-anticipated fifth studio album Storyteller, which will hit stores later this week.
Ahead of its release, Underwood has been traveling non-stop in order to keep up with her busy schedule of promotional appearances. Still, the 32-year-old was able to carve out some time to perform four sold-out shows at the Opry’s weekend-long 90th Birthday Celebration earlier this month.
“This really truly is the best family in the world to be a part of. I am blessed beyond measure to get to stand on this stage and just be a part of a living history,” Underwood said before beginning her performance, according to Rolling Stone Country. “I am so grateful for the Grand Ole Opry and just all of its members and all of the people that’s graced its stage over the 90 years that it’s been here.”
Storyteller is set for release in stores and online this Friday, October 23rd. On Nov. 4, Underwood will once again co-host the 49th annual CMA Awards with Brad Paisley, which will air live at 8/7 CT on ABC.
