Vince Gill Helps Out a Fan with an Epic Proposal at the Opry

Any time Vince Gill performs on stage, his fans get a special treat. However, his 25th anniversary celebration as a member of the Grand Ole Opry over the weekend was especially incredible for one couple.

While Gill was going through sound check, Jaclyn Cotton and her boyfriend Ben were touring the backstage of the Opry. Jaclyn had no idea that Ben had something special in store for Jaclyn – a proposal. When the tour stopped at the Opry stage, where Gill was practicing, Ben got down on one knee and popped the question.

Ben’s actions took Jaclyn so much by surprise that she couldn’t stop crying. But eventually, she was able to say yes. Vince Gill then serenaded the couple who were invited on stage for an emotional slow dance.

After this romantic gesture, Vince Gill went on to perform a stunning concert. Along with his wife, Amy Grant, and daughter, Jenny Gill, several other close friends and family performed. Longtime friends and collaborators Patty Loveless, Bill Anderson, and Rodney Crowell were all in attendance.

Gill had such a great time that he ran his set an hour longer than what he originally scheduled. Fans heard some of his greatest hits, including “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “House of Love.”

As great as his concert was, nothing can compare to the romantic and amazing night that Jacklyn Cotton had.
