Texas-born trio Sister C put a country twist on a pop hit with their energetic cover of “Ex’s and Oh’s.”
You may have first seen sisters Cirby, Carli, and Celbi Manchaca during their time as contestants on The X Factor in 2012. Since then, they’ve been hard at work on new material and have built a dedicated fan base with their ongoing series of music videos.
In their latest video, the sister bring twang to the sultry hit song from soulful vocalist Elle King. You probably know King as Dierks Bentley’s duet partner on his current single, “Different for Girls.” Although she has a distinctive and powerful voice, these three ladies bring their own style and attitude to the track.
The video is the latest installment in the trio’s long-running Blue Room Sessions, which features unique covers and original material. Along with this most recent cover, they’ve recorded renditions of the Dixie Chicks’ “Travelin’ Soldier” and Patty Griffin’s “Top of the World.”
Earlier this year, Sister C released their debut EP, Demo Sessions, Vol. 1. Their latest single, “Faint of Heart,” was co-produced by Lee Brice and has been gaining steam on country radio. This success hasn’t slowed down their creative efforts. Fans can expect their follow-up EP, Demo Sessions, Vol. 2, to be released in the coming weeks.
