The actor who played Luke Duke in the popular 1980s TV series Dukes of Hazzard has been arrested in Massachusetts. Tom Wopat is facing assault and battery charges as well as drug possession charges.
According to the Waltham Patch, Wopat was arrested at 10:53 p.m. on Aug. 2. The arrest relates to an incident taking place in Waltham, Mass. The original warrant states assault and battery on a person over the age of 14.
When police searched the Dukes of Hazzard star's car, they found two bags of white powder they believe to be cocaine.

The Middlesex District Attorney's office says the 65-year-old actor will appear for arraignment in Waltham District Court this week.

Wopat is in town performing in the production of 42nd Street at the Reagle Music Theater of Greater Boston.
With these charges, Wopat may be facing both a felony and misdemeanor conviction.
