Vince Gill, Brandy Clark and Hillary Scott lead the lineup for 2015 Tin Pan South.
Nashville Songwriters Association International has announced the lineup for their 2015 Tin Pan South. Now in its 23rd year, Tin Pan South celebrates songwriters of all genres with a five-day event all over Music City.
More than 330 songwriters will perform in venues all over Nashville, including at the Hard Rock Cafe, the Station Inn and the Bluebird Cafe. Several artists, including Vince Gill, Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, Brandy Clark, RaeLynn, Craig Campbell, Jamie O’Neal and Lee Roy Parnell, will perform some of their biggest hits.
In addition, hit songwriters including Rivers Rutherford, Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Rodney Clawson, Leslie Satcher, Chris Lindsey, Tom Douglas and others will also take the stage, performing in Nashville’s typical in-the-round setting, while sharing the stories behind some of their biggest hits.
Tin Pan South, which remains the largest all-songwriter festival in the world, began in 1992 as a way to honor songwriters for their dedicated craft.
“Tin Pan South is a collection of some of the greatest songwriters in Nashville and beyond,” songwriter and Tin Pan South performer Bill Whyte tells Wide Open Country. “It’s a great opportunity for fans to gather and go from venue to venue and hear the songs as they were originated, often with just a guitar and or piano. Country music has always been about storytelling, and in this kind of acoustic-stripped back environment, the songs take on a different texture and feel that many have not experienced before.
“Tin Pan South is a great place to hear songs that have great impact as performed by the writer or writers even thought they may never be charted hits, as well as being a great environment to hear songs that will be hits in the future,” Whyte adds. “Plus, it’s a great way to discover songwriter artists you may have never heard of before. It’s fun to see the surprised look from audience members and see them thinking, “They wrote THAT?”
This year’s Tin Pan South will be held March 24 to 28. A complete schedule and list of performers, with venue information, is available on the Tin Pan South website.
