A serious multi-vehicle crash involving a tour bus carrying crew members of Thompson Square resulted in twelve injuries on Friday.
A bus carrying the indie pop performer Twin Shadow rear-ended a semi that was stopped in traffic on Interstate 70 in Aurora, Colorado. That tour bus then another semi and a bus carrying the crew of Thompson Square. The driver of Twin Shadow’s bus was hospitalized with severe injuries, along with 11 other passengers. None of the passengers on Thompson Square’s bus were injured.
The band’s crew were en route to Denver for a show at the National Western Complex Arena. Thompson Square themselves, Keifer and Shawna Thompson, were already in Dallas preparing for the 2015 ACM Awards at the time of the crash. The band went on with the show that evening and afterwards took to their official Facebook page to discuss the incident with their fans. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who were injured and their families,” the band said in their post.
Poor weather conditions involving severe rain, snow, and fog were likely a factor in the incident. No charges have currently been filed but the accident remains under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol.
