Thomas Rhett is not just resting comfortably at the top of one chart; he is in the No. 1 position on three different Billboard charts for his current hit “Die a Happy Man”.
Rhett’s love song to his wife, Lauren Akins, is No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, and Country Digital Songs charts for eight, three, and nine weeks, respectively.
“Die a Happy Man” experienced a 17% increase to 48.9 million impressions on Country Airplay and a 57% percent increase to 98,000 downloads to claim the Country Digital Songs top spot. The track is also gaining some traction outside of country music, beginning to receive airplay in the Adult Top 40 market.
Big Machine CEO and President Scott Borchetta boasted about Rhett’s single, explaining that the song has already become a staple in the young artist’s career. “As Thomas’ star continues to rise, this single [“Die a Happy Man”] is already arguably his biggest and has become a career song. He’ll likely never be able to play another show without performing the song.”
“Die a Happy Man” is the second single off Rhett’s sophomore album, Tangled Up, and follows the success of “Crash and Burn”, which peaked at Number 2 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The album has been in the Top 10 of Top Country Albums since its release fourteen weeks ago, capping off at No. 2 and selling 257,000 copies to date. Ironically, Rhett’s first offering, It Goes Like This, likewise peaked in the second spot on the charts, ultimately selling 291,000 copies.
