One little boy is giving back to his community by sharing his impressively vast knowledge of American history with anyone willing to spare a quarter.
8-year-old Gabe Fulmerhouser loves learning about the history of his country. He spends hours reading books about past presidents, wars and pretty much anything else you can think of about the United States. One morning, he came up with an idea that would allow him to share all of the fun facts he’s learned while also raising money to help others.
Instead of simply opening a lemonade stand, Gabe’s mother helped him build a patriotic booth in his front yard, where passersby can hear an incredible story about America and its past for the low price of just one quarter. Of course, if you offer up more than the asking price, Gabe is happy to give you a few extra stories as a thank you.
All of the money Gabe raises from his historical tidbits will go toward a charity in his own hometown. At the time of his interview, the bright historian-in-training had only raised $7, but I’m guessing that all this national exposure means that Gabe probably has a line of people waiting to be schooled by this pint-sized genius.
