Not all of us are lucky enough to have an expansive and well-manicured backyard. If you’re eager to enjoy your own low-maintenance piece of the outdoors, you have to see this easy-to-make grass daybed.
Australian landscaper Jason Hodges has come up with a clever way to transform any concrete patio into a comfy green space. Instead of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars to tear up your patio and replace it with sod, you can simply make this stylish piece of outdoor furniture that doubles as a flowerbed.
After you build the simple square frame, simply attach more wood to the top of the frame to make a headboard. This can be filled with other plants that can bring more color and texture to your patio. Once your frame is done, stain it to the color of your choice and let dry.
Next, you’ll need to coat the bottom of your flowerbed with a liner to keep your soil from draining out the bottom. Then, you’ll want to put a thick layer of soil down before laying your sod on top. Make sure it gets plenty of water, let dry, then throw on a few comfy outdoor pillows. All that’s left to do is grab a cool glass of lemonade and enjoy your new favorite spot.
