Famed Chorus Pay Tribute to Their Cancer-Stricken Teacher With “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” [WATCH]

When the Public School 22 Chorus paid tribute to one of the school’s sick teachers with Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It”, there wasn’t a dry eye left in the room.

The Staten Island, N.Y. chorus wanted to do something special for Adriana Lopez, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The fifth graders decided to show their love and appreciation the best way they could – through song.

McBride’s track perfectly conveyed the emotions the students were feeling for their beloved teacher. Fittingly, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” has been used as the trademark song for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In the video above, you can hear the chorus’ amazing version of the song and see how their surprise performance quickly moved Lopez to tears. After they finish, the children engulf the teacher with a giant hug and receive thanks from an overwhelmed Lopez.

The talented chorus is well-known for incredible covers of popular songs and have even performed with superstars like Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry and Phillip Phillips. PS22 has even performed for President Barack Obama; and its YouTube videos have been watched over 69 million times. You can see more footage of performances at PS22’s YouTube channel.
