Most of us never really take time to appreciate the beauty of nature in our own backyards. For artist Jason Waldron, the sticks and natural elements that surround his home in Central Oregon are the key element of his breathtaking art pieces.
Waldron spends his days rummaging through his backyard, local wilderness areas and scrap yards for materials. Each weathered piece of metal and old piece of driftwood is reinvented into something beautiful and completely unique.
He uses the wood’s coloring and textures to create a multi-dimensional piece that mimics the figures of animals, people and other abstract concepts.
This incredible sculpture looks like a bird that’s perched and waiting to take flight at any moment.
Waldron first became interested in making wood-based works of art after he stumbled upon a wood-carving demonstration. He was mesmerized by the process, and quit his job the next day to pursue his calling.
14 years later, Waldron has an incredible collection of art that tells a story and showcases his talent and imagination.
