Sometimes it’s easy to take our surroundings for granted — even easier when we’re asleep.
Thankfully, there are some extremely talented photographers who are able to capture some of the beauty of Mother Nature after hours.
Kansas photographer David Lane spent months shooting the Milky Way over the scenic Yellowstone Park and used his technical expertise to showcase the incredible mixture of colors and textures filling the skies. In order to show off the details the human eye can miss, Lane increased saturation levels and combined up to 16 exposures to create these breath-taking shots.
“Get away from the light [and] drive out 20-30 miles out of town and look up on a clear dark night and you may see something that will forever change your life,” Lane tells fans of his work on Facebook. “This is what a galaxy looks like from the inside.”
