Texan Austin Allsup Delivers Impressive Waylon Jennings Cover on ‘The Voice’

The live shows of The Voice season 11 began on Monday night (Nov.7). One contestant has stood out to several viewers around the country: Texas native Austin Allsup. He delivered an impressive rendition of Waylon Jennings’ classic “I Ain’t Living Long Like This.”

The Fort Worth troubadour graced the stage with a full band and a solid country tone. Allsup’s performance helped him soar through the first round, giving him a definite spot for next week.

Monday’s episode was the first that featured the audience voting for contestants. Several were up against Allsup, including Dana Harper, Josh Halverson and Simone Gundy.

Allsup will continue on Team Blake as the top 12 slowly winds down over the coming months of the competition. You can watch Allsup and many others perform Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 PM ET on NBC.
