A famed Texas rodeo performer made jaws drop across the country when he broke the record for the incredibly difficult lasso trick.
The Texas Lasso Skip is one of the toughest moves when it comes to rope tricking. Javier Escamilla visited the Today Show and easily broke the Guinness World Record in only 60 seconds.
So why is this trick so difficult? The Texas Lasso Skip is a vertical loop maneuver that requires the tricker to spin a lasso and jump through it. During his visit to the morning show Escamilla tried to jump through the hoop as many times as possible.
Luckily, Escamilla smashed the Guinness World Record by completing a mind-blowing 100 total skips.
Escamilla is a bullfighter and charro (rope tricker) who broke the previous record of 80 skips in one minute. Escamilla believes that “the Texas Skip is the hardest part of trick roping in Mexico,” and for good reason. This is the first time anyone has broken the record since 2006.
This talented performer started working on rope tricking at the young age of 4. Since then, he’s shown off his talents to fans across the world in his own show, appropriately called “Hermanos Escamilla.”
